Standard claims verification
Standard statements verifications are available with an add-on logo that may be used on the products package.
VEGAN
Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, and an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of animals. Vegan products do not contain raw materials sourced from animals. Ecogea screens the products and validates the Vegan status to the products.
DERMATOLOGICALLY TESTED
Dermatologically tested means that the product was tested by dermatologists on human skin with standard methods for tolerance and signs of obvious or severe skin reactions. Ecogea can provide accredited third-party labs for the tests.
HYPOALLERGENIC
These statements imply that the products making the claims are less likely to cause allergic reactions than competing products. Products usually do not contain known allergens or these are present in extremely low concentrations. Ecogea can provide accredited third-party labs for the tests.
AROMA-THERAPEUTIC
Aromatherapy, or essential oil therapy, refers to a range of traditional, alternative, or complementary therapies that use essential oils and other aromatic plant compounds. Ecogea screens the products or raw materials to check if they comply with aromatherapeutic status. The usage of 100% natural non-adulterated essential oils or other aromatic compounds is a must.
EFFECTIVE
The term refers to skincare products with proven and tested active ingredients for short or long-term improvement of the skin. Efficiency tests for various effects need to be done (e.g moisturization, anti-wrinkle, TEWL, etc) depending on the customer’s requirements and stated claims. Ecogea can provide accredited third-party labs for the tests.
WILD-HARVESTED
Wild harvested means plants or portions of plants that are collected or harvested from defined areas of land which are maintained in a natural state and are not cultivated or otherwise managed. Ecogea screens the products and validates the status of wild-harvested raw materials or products based on documentation and specifications.
Examples of non-standard claims verifications projects
1. Example – Beard growing ingredients:
Task: Customers wanted to make beard growing oil products with legal claims.
Solution: We researched the market and scientific articles about ingredient that can be used for such product. We find a solution with the ingredient that promotes hair growth, and made all necessary documentation with proves and claims. Inspector for cosmetics accepted it as reliable source and approved the use of the claims.
2. Example – RSPO palm oil:
Task: Customer wanted to change all of his palm oil in the products with reliable RSPO organic palm oil supplier.
Solution: We connected them with reliable price competitive gross seller and check all raw material documentation in details. We tasted basic quality parameters in our own lab to assure ingredient quality. At the end we issued our own third party verification document and proposed claims that could be used about it.
3. Example – Organic extracts:
Task: Customer wanted to change all of his extracts for organic ones.
Solution: We connected them with reliable certified producer of organic extracts and we made in detail check of all documentation. We tasted the ratio of new more concentrated extracts to old more diluted ones and proposed optimal percentage in products. At the end we issued our own third party verification document regarding organic extracts used and proposed claims that could be used for each extract.
